How to get rid of unwanted mails?

Even with the modern technology we are in today, companies are still consistent in sending unsolicited snail mails. I find it really annoying and throwing those letters is just a mere addition to my daily chores. If we have spam filtering feature in our e-mail, I am wondering if there will be a company or group I can communicate with and seek for help in eliminating those unwanted mails that I received regularly.

With constant research, I finally found out that there are associations you can contact with and you can ask them to include you in their no mail list, like in the US they have the Mail preference service while in the UK they have the Mailing preference service. They also call it as opt-out list. However, there are also other options like calling directly to companies like your credit card companies, catalog companies and the like and ask them to exclude you in their mailing list.

On the other hand, if those unwanted mail senders are persistent enough in sending you unwanted or unsolicited mails every now and then, maybe you should already seek help from those professionals that are good enough in stopping junk mail. In this way, there will be less chance if not totally eliminated for junk mails to get into our mailbox.
